The project
The world of waste processing is changing. Sustainability and circular thinking are important themes in the industry and for client Van Happen. Their request was a facade that also radiates these values; a facade that shows Van Happen's activities and at the same time generates energy.
The arrows in this design visualize the collection and sorting of waste by Van Happen. The arrows consist of coloured and even lightweight, circular solar panels. The project thus serves as an example of how to make industrial estates more sustainable in an attractive way.

Solarix solar facade
In this project, a combination of regular glass/glass solar panels in colour with an innovative circular lightweight solar panel was chosen. Two shades of gray have been applied in an enlarged dot that match the aesthetic requirements for this area. A solar film has been developed and tested for the circular Solarix / Solarge solar panels with the same pattern in green. A Terra and ochre panels have been added at the entrance. Another challenge in the project was the mounting system, as the substrate was a corrugated sheet sandwich panel, and we were dealing with 2 types of panels. We were able to solve this with an adjustment to our mounting system. This assignment has stimulated Solarix to think further about our facade solar panels and to take a new step in our pursuit of a circular product.
Process
Solarix and Van Happen took the initiative for this special project. The research and development processes have been made possible, among other things, by the subsidy Brabant Gives Energy from the Province of North Brabant. The final realization was in collaboration with Kuijpers, Solarge, Avery Denisson and Omnimark.

Villa Lichtenberg
A beautifully designed, low-energy and maintained villa with a complete energy-generating facade. The facade is designed in a rhythmic pattern of various custom-made coloured solar panels in a combination of moss and sand tones.
De Staal
Gelegen langs de A13 zal De Staal de nieuwe entree voor Delft worden. In het gevelontwerp, geïnspireerd op een Delfts blauwe vaas, worden blauwe Solar Design panelen geïntegreerd.
Pharos Hoofddorp
Gouden gevelzonnepanelen transformeren het kantoorgebouw Pharos in Hoofddorp tot de energierijkste en gezondste werkcommunity van Europa.
